FN&C: What is your personal goal within the Ms. Foundation? GOULD: My personal goal is to connect work being done at the local, state, national and international levels. I want to bring greater visibility to women leaders and to shine a big spotlight on the solutions that women are coming up with. Women have found many creative and effective solutions to issues such as community safety, creating jobs, transitioning women into different fields and health issues, and we need to shine a spotlight on them. FN&C: Why did you decide to enter the field of nonprofits? GOULD: Ive always known I wanted to work with nonprofits. I have actually never worked in a for-profit company. I believe in the power of people to make change, and that happens through nonprofits. I am fascinated with people who are leaders because theyre interested in making change and seeing things made better for a large number of people.
